Is Barack Obama Ålandsman?
As Åland politicians voted on thursday 23rd October 2008 to choose who is their favourite man to be in the white house, many questions lingers in many ordinary peoples minds. Most of the people I interacted with concerning this new love for Obama to become the presindent of the worlds powerful and riches nation hence the most powerful man in the world were very skeptical about the politicians views and the motive behind the choice.
One asked why should the majority of the politicians favour Barack Obama while they have done nothing related to his policies or proposed nothing to help in the intergration of the immigrants in Åland. No politician have come up with any legislation to be debated concerning this matter, more so, concerning the Ålands immigrants kids to be positively intergrated in the society to prepare them for future leadership role in the society.
Barack Obama phenomenon is a real phenomenon not only in America, but worldwide. This Obamaniac can be witnessed by the recent legislators voting in his favour here in Åland and how excited people get when the name Obama is mentioned in Asia, Europe, Australia and Africa.
Some of the questions I would like to ask are what lessons Åland(Politicians and residents) intend to learn from the Obama presidency? will it unite or bring more institutionalised racism in Åland? I have had my observations about nepotism in Åland, to what extend will this change or what influence will President Obama bring to this society?
The countdown to Obama presidency is on, as a person who comes from the community where Obamas father came from, I am humbled to be associated with him from the roots and we do share common opinion on most of the issues he advocates for and against.
The big question is, is Barack Obama really Ålands man? If he becomes the presindent, will the Island adopts same kind of international policies he represents and campaigns for?

The true use of speech is not so much to express our wants as to conceal them: Oliver Goldsmith
Learning to communicate, for little children, means squeezing huge desires into little words, like “hurt” or “cookie.” We learn earley that we are only going to get part of what we want. Some of us never recover from this disappointment. We may imagine that we have the power to control others, and so we tell ingenious stories to mask what we think is our naked strength. But we are deluding ourselves, rather than other people. The strategy of falsehood and control finally traps us in a web of lies, where even we do not know what we want. Clarity is a choice, and so is happpiness, if we want to choose them.

Comments: Kroatiens ambassadör besöker Åland
In a brief response to the visit by the Croatia topman in Finland Damir Kusen to the Island of Åland on monday the 20th october 2008 and meeting with the following personalities, speaker,Roger Nordlund, Viveka Eriksson, Peter Lindbäck and town director Bjarne Pettersson shows that Åland has moved forward and is highly being recognised as an autonomy.
Åland can learn more from Croatia from its history of being part of the larger Ygoslavia before the war to a major economic important contributions from cities like the Dubrovnik which is an important seaport and tourist resort. The multi-cultural,mixed ethnicity and different religious practices, beliefs and tollerance are some important facts to note about Croatia.
We at Habari 1 and Habari Newsletter would like to congratulate the persons who arranged the visit and briefly say that it would have been more possitive and benefitting to Åland resindents to meet with his excellency the ambassador and fillin some questions on different topics to enhence our knowledge of Croatia

Waiting For “President Barack Obama”: Days 2Go: 13
We have began the great count down at KSB. For Kenya, this is a special period when our great country is on
the
verge of producing the President of the United States of America. For Africa, it is a special period because an African is about to become head of the greatest Nation on earth. For Americans, it will be the ultimate evidence that the fight against racism has probably advanced to the highest level attainable in this century. For the rest of the world, Obama’s victory will be the ultimate evidence that “Yes. we can all make it”.
Obama is and will remain an inspiration to all supporters watching this historic moment unfolding before our very eyes. He is black, he is white, he is African and he is American. He started from simple beginnings and is heading for great heights. He is Barack Obama, the next President of the United States of America. Take it or leave it, the world is changing. Should the white House be renamed “Black and White House?” Go Obama, go… We are waiting for the swearing in ceremony: I am not quite sure how it goes but I am sure these words are there in the script: “I Barack Obama… as President of the United States of America… So help me God”. That is where we are at KSB unless the ECK in the United States tampers with the computer tallying process of Presidential results.
